Featured Program Turning Winds Residential Treatment Center

When a parent is in the situation where they are evaluating residential treatment centers for troubled teens it feels like the world is coming to an end – the trauma and stress is indescribable and words do not adequately capture the emotional pain associated with the turmoil and chaos of a struggling teenager. Most undoubtedly, choosing a treatment program for your child is one of the most difficult events a parent will undertake.

"Where is your crystal ball when you need it?"

Choosing the right residential treatment center option that fits your child’s unique mental health needs is almost impossible. However, if there was ever a program that truly understands the parent’s need during this stressful time, it is Turning Winds.

We’ve heard from countless parents stating, “An admissions counselor at Turning Winds calmed our storm and helped us make the right decision.” The dedicated admissions team is here to help answer any questions that you may have and provide you with a nurturing experience to put your mind at ease so that you can make the best and most informed decision for your child and family.

Turning Winds Students Doing Homework

The “Turning Winds difference” is truly unique, by combining elements of wilderness therapy,  a relational treatment approach with a full medical and clinical team while also offering a full academic staff to provide the much needed support for your child.  Most residential programs do not provide the holistic care that we do.

The Turning Winds organization was founded on the premise to save lives while delivering a one of a kind treatment experience.  An experience that feels more like being part of a bigger family. While Turning Winds may not be the answer for every child, it is a wonderful place to begin your journey of finding help for your struggling teen.

We hope that you will allow Turning Winds to play a small part in getting your teen and family the help that is needed.  Together we can make a difference in the life of your child. Please call 866-492-9454 to find out more about the Turning Winds Program.

The Turning Winds Way – Does Your Child Need Help?

As parents, it can be difficult to tell the difference between “typical” teen issues and those that are serious – emotional or mental disorders. Teens are known at times for being rebellious, disrespectful, angry, mean-spirited, and most of all, moody.  However, there is a significant difference between teenage phases of moodiness and those that exhibit signs for mental health or substance abuse issues.  It is imperative that parents and caregivers realize the difference and act accordingly as time is of the essence.

If you’re questioning whether or not your teen’s issues warrant a therapeutic intervention like Turning Winds, you first need to know the depth of your child’s problems. Turning Winds is very good at helping parents determine their options for treatment.

What Is The Best Program For Your Child?

Most parents do not know the difference between wilderness programs, therapeutic boarding schools, and residential treatment centers. While each of these offers “help” and “hope” for troubled teenagers, there are tremendous differences as to the level of care that is provided with each treatment option.

The Turning Winds Difference

Turning Winds can be best characterized as a hybrid residential treatment program. They have blended the benefits of wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools, and RTC clinical and medical support to create the ultimate therapeutic program. Turning Winds uniquely supports teens in overcoming their emotional, mental, and academic problems to rebuild their lives for a brighter and happier future.

Turning Winds leverages the serene backdrop of nature, provides excellent academic support, and a strong clinical and medical team to facilitate a meaningful treatment experience comprising of medication management, 24 hour nursing, psychiatric support along with family, group and individual therapy.  Turning Winds is a long-term customized treatment program which allows optimal time for teens to achieve real change while giving them the opportunity to really put into practice all that they have learned.

Most students enrolled at Turning Winds complete high school and enroll into collegeAs much as Turning Winds would like to help every troubled teen, they may not always be the best therapeutic option for your child. In order to provide the best possible care for your child, Turning Winds serves teens with mental health and substance abuse needs who may meet some of the following criteria: anxiety and depression, attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), co-occurring and dual-diagnosis disorders, eating disorders (mild to moderate); obsessive-compulsive disorder, and oppositional defiance disorder (mild to moderate). We can also provide therapeutic services for teens with select medical needs that include type-1 diabetes and girls who are pregnant up to 30 weeks.

The best way to find out if Turning Winds is the right program for your child is to speak with them in person. Call  866-492-9454 and we can help you start the conversation for discovering solutions.
